Solo Bathroom Remodel in a Week
Remodeling a bathroom can be a challenging yet rewarding project, especially if you plan to do it solo!
Day 1: Planning and Preparation
Assess the Current Bathroom: Take measurements and note the layout.
Set a Budget: Determine how much you are willing to spend.
Gather Supplies: Create a list of materials needed (tiles, fixtures, paint, etc.).
Design: Sketch out your new bathroom layout and design.
Day 2: Demolition
Remove Fixtures: Take out the toilet, sink, and any other fixtures.
Take Down Tiles: Carefully remove old tiles from walls and floors.
Dispose of Debris: Ensure proper disposal of old materials.
Day 3: Plumbing and Electrical Work
Check Plumbing: Inspect and repair any plumbing issues.
Update Electrical: Ensure outlets and lighting are up to code.
Install New Fixtures: Set up new plumbing fixtures if applicable.
Day 4: Flooring Installation
Prepare Subfloor: Ensure it’s clean and level.
Install New Flooring: Lay down tiles, vinyl, or any chosen flooring material.
Allow to Set: Follow manufacturer instructions for curing time.
Day 5: Wall Treatments
Install Mold-Free: Hung to manufactures spec
Second Coat: Applied a seal and finishing coat.
Sand Mud: Wet Sponged the entire room.
Day 6: Installing Fixtures
Install Vanity and Sink: Securely place and connect plumbing.
Install Toilet: Follow instructions for proper installation.
Attach Lighting: Install light fixtures and ensure they are functional.
Add Accessories: Hang mirrors, towel bars, and other accessories.
Clean Up: Remove any debris and clean the space thoroughly.
